New UM campus route

Announcement at UMISISWEB

sigh...

due to fuel price hike, the project of demolishing some of the lecture halls of Dental Faculty at University Hospital was delayed. Clinical students will continue attending lectures there, but not at Balai Ungku Aziz as planned.

Advantages
i don't have to rush from BUA to UH after lectures for my clinical sessions, as the walking distance takes 30mins. The walking distance from 6th Residential College to UH is 15mins, sheltered (within the hospital building) & not hilly.

Disadvantages
I purposely bought a scooter & got an L-licence! I know i can leave the motorcycle at home for my dad to ride, as to save fuel by not having to drive a car. But scooter is more expensive than common geared motorcycles a.k.a. kapchai. Had i known earlier that the project has been delayed, we would have bought a kapchai instead! I was to renew my L-licence every 3 months at the post office and that costs RM35 everytime! I was planning to learn riding geared ones before sitting for the exam to get a permanent licence during my next holidays. We had even contacted one of my uncle to send my scooter to my campus next week.
Argh! My dad has spent a few thousands on me during this holiday. Feel so bad >.<

Good news!!!

haha i went for eyesight check-up this afternoon.
my myopia & astigmatisme power decreased again by 25 - 50 degrees!
so now my myopia degree on each of my eyes is 125 - 170 degrees; astigmatisme < 100 degrees.
so i changed the lenses.
Happy !!! (^.^)

Random

attended a lecture for motorcyclists-to-be last Sunday. Will get my motorcyclist learning licence (L-licence) tomorrow.

viewed all my friends' profiles on Facebook & Friendster accounts to keep myself updated on my friends' latest news. Spent a few days doing that :P I guess the next time when i'll have the time to do so will be during my next end of academic year holidays :)

my next holidays will be in August. I'm going to Indonesia to attend APDSA. Not very excited to go as so far it is not exciting to me at all. Going there to promote Malaysia for a project which is sooo not involving & seems so "detatched", so far.

Happy birthday to my person :) ...like Meredith & Cristina ~ Grey's Anatomy

Private Practice season 1 10.45pm

wow!!! both are my favourite series!
GA season 4 is the latest season. US aired its season finale last month. Season 5 is scheduled to be released this September.
PP is a spin-off of GA, a series of Dr. Addison Montgomery after leaving Seattle Grace Hospital.

Thai lunch

had Thai lunch at Chok Dee Thai Restaurant with Xin Ning, Yik Fun, Pin Ping & Pin Ping's younger brother, Chee Kiong. I've been there last year with my family. Had diarrhea yesterday so i didn't drink the tomyam soup, just ate the food. Quite nice :)
After lunch, we went shopping at BP Mall. Found out that one of my secondary school seniors are married with a kid!

Windows made to look like Mac

i transformed my Windows to make it look like a Mac using FlyakiteOSX. You can try it out on the offical website's java window.

Google Maps

viewed some interesting places usin Google Maps.
1. My house
2. University of Malaya
3. Seattle - where Grey's Anatomy is set
4. Los Angeles - where Grey's Anatomy is filmed
- where Hollywood is
- where most of the stars live
5. New York - where Kimora Lee Simmons lives
6. Princeton - where House M.D. is filmed
7. Dunedin, New Zealand - where i stayed for more than 3 months in 1998
time flies, i couldn't recognise the house i stayed on Leith Street... maybe there's too much development over the years that has changed the look of the street... sweet memories :)

i've used Google Earth before. It's a software better than Google Maps as one can view 3D images of buildings and landscapes. However, i lost it after re-formatting my computer.

Jumanji!

Watched Jumanji on Astro AXN. It's a 1995 movie starring Robbie Williams & Kirsten Dunst (Spider Man lead actress when she was still a kid!). Watched it many times when i was a kid :) Some scenes frightened me very much when i was young, but now everything seems to be quite okay ;)

watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull few weeks ago. It's quite funny but i didn't really understand some parts especially those involving the aliens. Everything was okay except for the aliens, which i thought have made the story looked quite weird as i thought Indiana Jones stories were about adventures & treasure hunting. Or was i wrong?

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Watched this movie last week. A nice one, for children :) However, Prince Caspian didn't really have much influence despite being in the movie title. Peter, Susan, Edmund & Lucy still dominated the movie, with Aslan being the savior!

Back from vacation

just came home yesterday evening.
the first thing i did was exactly the same as what i did last year when i just reached home after traveling from Kedah - check my result slip!
haha this time around, my results are better than what i got last year! Hard work pays it off!

this trip back to Kedah was about eating local delicacies, visiting relatives and family friends, having a 3 days 2 nights trip to Langkawi, and "enjoying" the super hot weather in Northern Malaysia!
The Langkawi trip wasn't interesting, especially not the beaches and sea as we've been to nicer beaches in Tioman, Lang Tengah and Redang Islands. We rented a car to go around the island to visit historical sites such as the Mahsuri Mausoleum, Burnt Rice, etc. The best part of the trip was the cable car ride up a 700m high mountain. The gondolas moved at quite a high speed. The scene on top of the mountain was breathtaking! We saw the whole view of the bay with many yatchs as the International Yatch Society (can't remember the correct name :P ) was located there. I loved the world's longest pedestrian bridge the most! It was hanging around 600m above sea level in the valley! I loved the feeling when clouds were blown onto my face, and with clouds around me, i felt like i was in heaven :P
will upload pictures onto my facebook profile soon :)

learnt to ride a scooter motorbike using my maternal granny's Pasola in Kedah. My dad was my coach ;) Mastered the basic skills within 30 minutes!!! Haha, my cute little sis could also ride a motorbike now!

recently addicted to Kimora Lee Simmons' series Life in the Fab Lane on E! channel. For KLS fans, stay tuned on Astro E! Ch712 for the marathon!
