Thanks, mates :)

i sincerely thank my research teammates - Leni, Hooi Shan, Chung Nam and Diew Leong for your support, care, understanding and help during the past 2 weeks :) thank you for standing by my side when i was feeling very down... sorry for startling you... i trust you guys for keeping this to yourselves for the time being... i've learnt what makes a true friend... i've never regretted leaving home again to join the research team :) i really enjoyed the time we spent together in the clinic... i'll never forget Sister Ann Nee's kindness! haha... Thanks again!

Trip to Malacca

Went to Malacca last Saturday with my research teammates, Hooi Shan, Chung Nam, Diew Leong, Leni & her friends - Kar Kei, Larry & Samuel, and Darel. Managed to met up with Lai Tzen and Leni's friends who are staying in Malacca.
Ate Chicken Rice Balls at Jonker Street... The rice was good! But the chicken tasted...hmm...ok :P
Went around the shops nearby after lunch... Visitted Qing Yun Temple...
Met my ex-secondary schoolmate, Yong Cheng when we ate nyonya cendol, laksa and rojak at a shop before going to Tan Kim Hock to try the famous durian cendol... bought a bottle of cincalok there...
went to a shop opposite Puay Chai Primary School to try the special satay served together with pineapple gravy...
climbed up the hill behind the museum, my third time up there:)
went to Portugese Settlement and got mobbed by the hawkers there... it was drizzling when we arrived there... the hawkers scared me :P everyone was offering good food, some even have student packages... one of them eventually tried to give us free drinks! we didn't eat in the end :P
ate satay celup at a very famous shop... queued for more than half an hour to get a seat... one of the customers - an indian lady got her foot rolled over by a motorcycle when she was queueing up by the roadside with her family... i was taking my food when it happened... heard from the waitress that this wasn't the first time the incident happened to their customers... that indian lady cried as it must be very painful... her foot didn't bleed... but i guess there must be some minor fractures inside her foot... although i didn't see it happened with my eyes, i was equally shocked... hope she's fine by now...
the satay celup was quite delicious :)
went to Jonker Walk after dinner, my second time there :) watched a master poked a coconut with his bare finger... he knew many languages... the main purpose of his performances was to sell his ointment :)
tried some other good foods at Jonker Walk...
we didn't stay overnight in Malacca... reached KL late at midnight...
enjoyed myself very much :)

Going back to UM

i'm going back to uni for research work on Monday. Decided last night. Prof. Ngiao, a lecturer in our dental faculty, is going to retire soon. Before she leaves, she'd like to make one last contribution to our faculty, as well as the univeristy. This research is about the Microleakage of Gloves. We'll investigate on the effects on the microstructure of gloves after being washed by using detergent. This is important as most of the lecturers, especially for clinical year students, wash their hands (with gloves on) using detergent after inspecting a cubicle, and before moving on to the next cubicle, as each inspection takes only a few minutes.
I'm returning home by the 25th of May as i'll be leaving home on the 27th to Redang Island, and then to Kedah to visit my maternal grandma and relatives there, together with my family members.

Part-time Job, anyone?

i'm very bored at home... does anyone know any place who offers part-time job? hmm... i think it's kinda hard for me to get a job as i won't be around in Batu Pahat during school holidays. i'll be going to Lang Tengah Island near Redang Island in Terengganu, with my family. After that, we'll be heading to Kedah to visit my maternal grandmother and some relatives there. it's impossible for me to work part-time and take a 2-week leave! :)
i'm very glad to have passed my first-year BDS professional exam... i'm going to be a senior soon! yeah~ it's been less than a year since i started my BDS programme at UM!
went yum cha with my secondary schoolmates yesterday... we spent the whole afternoon chatting... one of my friends is selling RHB bank credit cards while waiting to enter uni in July, and earning quite a lot! many of my friends who are STPM leavers are working now till July... i wish all of them good luck in securing a place in public uni!
there's no wireless connection these few days at home, so i've been using dial-up connection. it's a bit slow but much more stable than wireless connection.

Hols till July

i've recently completed my 1st yr undergraduate studies :) hooray!! time passed so fast.. a year ago, i was still a matric leaver doing nothing at home, waiting to enter uni... now i'm waiting for my final exam results... well, i'm still stuck here at UM 'cause i've to wait to check whether i'm on the viva voce list before i can go home.. viva voce, meaning an oral test to prove your knowledge, i suppose? it's a list of 2 categories: distinction category for those who've obtained an A (>70%) for a particular subject, and those who passed can get an A+ for that subject, if not, you still get your A; borderline category for those who've obtained a D (45-49%), if passed, you'll get a C and continue your studies in 2nd yr (or the following academic year), if failed, you'll be subjected to sit for a supplementary exam after attending 2 more months of lectures. If you pass the supplementary exam, you can continue in the following academic year. if not, you'll have to repeat the whole academic year...
i'm going for my viva voce session for Biochemistry this afternoon. it's not easy to get a distinction. i'll treat it as a chance to gain more experience as it's not that easy to get into the list... well, wish me good luck :)
i'm going home this Sunday
